NOWPDP Joins Hands with Shell Pakistan to Support Persons with Disabilities

Karachi, April 22, 2016: In a bid to create avenues of employment for persons with disabilities, NOWPDP has signed a MoU with Shell which would enable Shell franchisees (retailers) to hire persons with disabilities as retail site forecourt staff by creating better employment opportunities for them. The main focus of such initiatives is to help foster an enabling environment for these new hires by engaging all stakeholders in sensitizing trainings to help build better work ethos amongst the forecourt staff.NOWPDP is a leading NGO that works with persons with disabilities to promote the creation of an inclusive society. It not only upholds the rights of disabledpersons, but also provides them with a common platform to come together and become agents of social change. We hope that the recently signed MoU will set precedence in the petroleum sector and we’re extremely happy to be a part of this project.”The pilot project is slated to be rolled out across 10 retail forecourt sites in Karachi and will be gradually expanded to other cities across Pakistan.
