Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s scheme to provide motorcycle to students through interest-free instalments has garnered significant attention, with over 100,000 students registering on the portal.  The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) disclosed that they have received approximately 16,000 online applications through the online portal. Among these, more than 13,000 students have applied for petrol bikes, while around 3,800 have shown interest in electric motorcycles.  Over 100,000 Students Register for CM Punjab’s Motorcycle Scheme Students from various cities including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi are eligible to apply for the scheme before the initial deadline on April 29th.  Under this scheme, students have the opportunity to acquire petrol motorcycles and electric bikes through convenient monthly instalment plans, facilitated by the Punjab government’s provision of the down payment. Additionally, the provincial government will cover the interest payments in monthly instalments, further easing the financial burden on the students.  The project, launched by CM Maryam Nawaz as part of the Chief Minister Youth Initiative on April 12, aims to provide 20,000 bikes to students. Male students can opt for monthly instalments of Rs 11,676, while female students can avail of the offer at Rs 7,325 per month.  In an effort to ensure equitable access for students across Lahore, motorcycles will be distributed based on the population density of each district.  Interested students can take advantage of this opportunity by submitting their applications before the deadline on April 29, 2024. They can submit their applications through the official website of the Punjab government. This initiative not only aims to empower students with mobility but also to alleviate financial constraints, enabling them to pursue their educational goals with greater ease.  How to Apply For This Scheme: To begin the registration process, eligible students need to click on this link: https://bikes.punjab.gov.pk/register. On the registration page, you should enter your full name, email address, CNIC, and gender details. Afterwards, you need to create your password to initiate the application process. Once the registration is done, you’ll proceed to fill out the form for the motorcycle application online. You’ll have the option to choose between petrol and electric motorcycles. Who Are Eligible for This Scheme? You should be over 18 years of age. Must be a regular student of a degree college or university duly recognized by HEC.
